Took friends today for lunch. A very friendly reception, fantastic service and attention. Food was really very good indeed, almost too much on our plates! A great choice, well presented and delicious. A lovely environment, and the ladies room exceptionally clean! Very happy to recommend and will certainly come again. Our friends might even book a room next time they come down to visit as they look good.

Restaurant: Good food and wine at reasonable prices. We had four separate dishes...fajitas, chicken, fish n chips, and linguine. All very good. The chef was happy to change the chicken to include a portions of chips and peas instead of the suggested risotto. Non alcoholic beer available; staff happy to allow one of us to bring non alcoholic wine. Staff very attentive. Will return!

We were in the area for a little break away, we chose to have our food here on the Thursday night (May 5th) and the girl serving was great, very welcoming, talkative and very happy to help. We had a query about what we noticed was a local food - fried pickle - the chef came out to us to ask us about it, didn’t have any pickles but treated us to some fried pickled onions which were lovely! Would certainly suggest people to come here.

A nicely laid out pub. Great beer that's well looked after. Fantastic variety of food at good prices. Good seating area outside with shading if needed.

Had an absolutely lovely Valentines dinner with husband! The table was laid beautifully and we couldn’t fault the food! So many little attentions to detail and everything was just perfect! It was great value, the staff were attentive and we had a really lovely evening! Can’t wait for the next ‘event!’ Xx

The service was good. The food was fabulous. The Powell Arms has a lot of charm and charisma.

Very impressed with our 1 night stay at The Powell. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and the check-in experience was very pleasant. We had room 5 which was lovely and homely with excellent in room facilities and comfort.

Breakfast was very nice with a selection of pastries, cereals and choice of hot meal and beverage.

The pub itself is very nice with a good suntrap beer garden out front and short (8 mins) walk from the train station.

First time visitor and will be back. Very friendly staff and all is covid safe and good.

Lovely beer garden and delicious pint. What more could one want?
